The next two weeks on the Explorers programme has been swapped around.
This Friday (11th May 2012) will now be Phil’s Fill, meet at the church at the usual time of 7.45pm.
The following Friday (18th May 2012) will now be our visit to South Shields Fairground. This will be an early meet at 6.30pm. We will need some help with lifts so please let us know if you can either get there yourself or have a parent who can drop you off.
Don’t forget if you do not pay by standing order then subs are due for the current term (£25.00).

No Meetings

St George’s Day Parade and Service – Friday 20^th April.

An important date in the Scouting calendar, even more so this year as we are the host group. This means we organise the service and our Beavers, Cubs and Scouts all have roles to play.

We are encouraging all group members (and their families) to attend – our host duties do not come around often so we would like a good show from the 7^th.

Young People should meet at Christ Church School yard at 6.50pm – the Service starts at 7pm and is usually over by 7.50pm.

7^th Scouts will return to Hawkey’s Lane for a shorter meeting. Everyone else is welcome to stay for refreshments at Christ Church. Scouts can be picked up from Hawkey’s Lane at the normal time (9.15pm).

Some Beavers, Cubs and Scouts have been selected to carry flags or to perform other duties. They should meet at Christ Church at 6pm for a short rehearsal.

Congratulations to Owen, Peter and Kate who were today awarded their Chief Scout’s Award certificates. Fabulous Flournoy of Newcastle Eagles presented the awards at the event at St James’ Park.

Summer camp will take place at the ‘Chess Club’ site, Pigdon, Nr Morpeth.

Scouts at Winter Camp this weekend 10-12 Feb

No meeting 17th Feb.

This Friday (27th January 2012) the Explorers are going Ice Skating at the Centre for Life.

Please meet at the church at the earlier time of 6.15pm.

It will cost £5.95 each and remember to bring gloves with you.

We should be back at the church by 8.30pm.

This Fridays night Explorers is Sportsnight at the Lightfoot Centre in Walker.

Please meet at the earlier time of 7.30pm. We should be back at the church at about the usual time.

The cost is £2.00 each.

This Sunday (9th) The Scouts will be ‘climbing Everest’ to raise money for the Poppy Appeal and the Church’s Alzheimer’s Society appeal.

Scouts should meet at Collingwood’s Monument on Sunday. The climb will take place between 9am and 11am. You can do as little or as much as you like. Get sponsors, wear uniform, climb!

The Facebook vote winner was Quaser Laser so that is the programme for Friday.

We have it booked for an hour from 7.00pm so please meet at the church at 6.30pm. The cost will be £7.00.

We should return by about 8.30pm and that will be the end of the meeting.

If you want to come to the night hike then this is your last chance to bring your forms and money. The cost if a tenner.

If you want to go to the night hike but not quaser or cannot make the earlier time, either give your money/form to someone else who is going or you can drop it off at scouts with John or Jim.
